Thailand - Day trip to Siem Reap from Bangkok: Visa issues?

I'm going to be in Bangkok for 6 days on vacation and I was thinking of making a day trip to Siem Reap (fly out in the morning, return the same night). I'm a US citizen. Is there going to be any issues with "entering" Thailand twice in such a short time? Also, does anyone foresee any visa issues in Cambodia (or any other issues for that matter)?
Thanks!

I don't think there will be any issues with immigration but you might find some issues with Bangkok Air. There might be a 1 night requirement with a ticket purchase.
Edit: Yup, just did a dummy booking and a same day r/t cannot be purchased.
Realistically you'll get little to nothing out of a 7 hour trip to REP anyway.

No kidding.
Can you give us any other details of your vacation? Maybe you could arrange something a bit differently. Have you already purchased plane tickets for your vacation? Where are you coming from / going to?

that would seem like a crazy idea to me too.
Take a day trip to Ayutthaya instead and you still get some old ruins in...or Lop Buri.

Beat me to it, on all points.

But it can be done by purchasing o/w's at a total cost of $450+.
When adding car/driver, entrance fee and food OP is looking at $550 (minimum) to see three temples. Meh.

There are no issues entering Thailand twice in such a short time. Thousands of people do this every week.
You obtain a Cambodian Visa upon arrival in Cambodia; I think it is $25, or maybe $20 (USD)? And it is best to pay with USD. Have some recent photos available.
A day trip to Ayutthaya/ Bang Pa-In, a mere 70 minutes by car/van from Bangkok, might be an alternative worth considering? Or maybe the Ancient City, in Samut Prakan?

Tourist visas are $20. For $25 you can get an extendable business visa. One picture only is needed.

Stay overnight! Angkor Wat and surrounding temples (especially Angkor Thom) are best at the crack of dawn before the hoards of tourist arrive. And there are tons of nice hotels and restaurants (in every price range).

Angkor Thom is a 'city' within which you will find Bayon, Baphuon, Phimmeanakas, the Elepant and Leper Terraces as well as Ta Phrom and Banteay Kdei among many other smaller temples. It is not a temple.
In fact thom is used in contemporary cities and has the same meaning as the Thai word thani: city.

I hate the fact that the Cambodian visa takes up a whole page :(.
The last time I went thru Cambodia I went thru a land border from Thailand and they wouldn't accept my USD because it wasn't in perfect condition, i.e. my $25 was a little worn.
Are they like that at customs in the airport? They wanted me to pay in Thai Baht because they charge more that way.
They also make you pay extra for leaving the same day. Which is a scam and the customs agent pockets the money. This was my experience at the land border.
I hope they are much better at the airport

Welcome to Poipet, a hive of scum. Why were you paying $25 when the tourist visa is $20? There's no additional cost for leaving the same day, they're just aware people use that point for visa runs for Thailand and figure they'll bend you over and you'll happily oblige them. What you encountered is not typical at other entry points.
You're complaint about the the visa taking up a page is silly.

I don't think a visa taking up a page for a 1 day trip is a silly complaint. I just had to renew my passport 3 years early because of all those stupid full page visas. There is no reason for it.

And yet China, Cambo, Laos, Myanmar, Indo and Vietnam all give you one. Thailand if you get somethign other than a visa exemption stamp.
I had three additions to my last passport before the US embassy refused any more and I needed a new passport 3 years early. That's life. The alternative is not to travel to countries who issue a full visa or just roll with it. And to go on a visa run, which this most assuredly was, and where you have a choice of countries to go to, and then complain is well, silly.
It's a silly complaint.

For me... those 1 hr trips to cambodia take up a whole page. I have 3... and 3 empty pages left :).
Getting a new Canadian passport is a full application process again, I can't add extra pages like the US Passports.

You might want to look into Malaysia for your next visa run then.

Last visa run I did in Singapore, Stayed at the Hilton across the street :).
That worked out well, but they only give single entry 60 + 30 day extension @ immigration there.
Do you know if they grant multi entry visas in Malaysia?

An Uncle, a French citizen, recently got a 60-day double entry Tourist Visa from the Thai consul/Embassy in Suwanaket, Laos. I think he flew there from BKK?
So he can come in for 60 days, get a 30 day extension, leave/re-enter get another 60 days, then extend for 30 days. That gets you a total of 180 days.
I have a 1 year multiple entry Non-Imm B, which means I have to leave/re-enter every 90 days. I travel every 45 - 60 days so not a problem for me.
I didn't think anyone did those Cambodia visa runs anymore as you only get 15 days now.

If you're looking for something that will be used a handful of times then you might wnat to look into Vientiane. That's been the go to for some time for people I know. They will at some point red-line your passport and then that avenue is closed.
I know some people that have gone the 'educational visa' direction and these can be valid for a year or more, regardless of whether or not they show up for the 1 hr per week of Thai lessons.

I've heard of vientianne & savannakhet visa runs, its something I would look into when I get a new passport with more pages I can fill up.
I think the educational visa would be the best bet for me. I met this guy the other day who told me he has a contact in pattaya that has given him the ED Visa for the past 7 Years! I can't imagine learning that much Thai. LOL.

I've received visas twice from Vientiane and other than the lines there was little hassle factor. Last year the word was that Savannakhet was not a place to bother with for a visa.

You might like to try getting E Visa's then.
