Hi

In July I'll be flying LHR-BKK return on the above. I've flown this bird in business before but not economy so it would be good to know people's views on their favourite economy seat.
Thai tell me that the AVOD boxes are located under seats A,D,G&K so those seats are out. Looking at the seat plan the middle 4 seats ( D-G) reduce to 3 at row 52 which seems to offer a bit more elbow room at 52/53 G so I was thinking of reserving either.
Has anyone experience of these seats or suggest alternatives.

Thanks.

I had an exit seat the one time I flew on one.. Was very narrow and you couldn't lift the armrest. So if you are on the wide side, I would avoid an exit seat.

I didn't like the exit seats either - the controller on the inside of the arm rest bugged me. They are a hassle on long flights IMHO - moving the table and screen to get up and the lack of seat pocket. You also lack the cupholders which are useful.

I liked the seats at the back of a section - near the toilets. I liked not having to worry about reclining into anyone. Legroom was okay, the IFE box was noticeable but not that bad. Given how the seats were narrower than the 747, I decided to maximise my personal space with the toilets behind me. I didn't notice any particular lack of recline.

The A340-600 was fairly comfortable overall, and noise levels are lower than the 747, but I found the 747 very comfortable in comparison - seat and aisle width seemed much better.

Hope you enjoy your flight.

Thanks for your replies. I'll probably try and reserve 52/3 G.
I last flew with Thai aboard an A340 in April ( business ) and the noise levels were noticeably quieter than the 747 service but friends in the back said that the seats were narrow and hard.

avoid 44AB through 58AB - in these rows pitch is 5 cm less than on other seats (DEFGHK and front rows)!!

Hi Creole Spirit

Thanks for your helpful reminder that seats 44-58 on the left hand side ( suppose I should say port... ) on the aircraft have less leg room - recall its 32 instead of the normal 34.

Regards
