Alitalia MilleMiglia - Millemiglia miles calculation problem

Hi all, was checking my millemiglia account,
I've flown since now 2 round trips in Italy, Genoa - Bari - Genoa (via FCO). Class shown on ticket is Y (payed eur 300 for each).
The problem is that, stating what Alitalia says, each Y ticket should earn at least 1500 miles per flight.
After 2 round trips my miles are 1000....
I found on Alitalia millemiglia website on my credit check that my flights are archieved as X N or W, earning 0 to 250 miles per flight.
How can class shown on credit check be lower than the one on ticket?
Also no trace of 2000 miles bonus for joining millemiglia...

What was the exact fare code? Some airlines use Y to mean anything in coach as well as specifically the full Y unrestricted and fully refundable ticket fare code.

Miles earnt for trips should be clearer
Only AZ / MM can help you with the booking classes because unless you printed the confirmation where it shows the miles per flight there is no way of telling (unless you have the booking classes clearly indicated, which I doubt)
As MSPeconomist points out "Y" means a varity of things but a 300€ fare isn't a Y fare bucket fare GOA - BARI
Still AZ should be clearer

If you go under manage your booking inserting the reservation number your flights will appear and in the right hand column you should see MM miles per flight
Might be 0, 250 or 500
Doesn't include J bonuses if you are travelling internationally in business. In this case you have to X by 3
Not an easy way to control your flights and should be made easier (and clearer)

My request cannot be processed online... "please call customer service" (30c per minute).
Thank you much for your help.
Certainly there is no error in miles calculation then, simply they show Y class on ticket, boarding pass and reservation when class is not Y.
I think I'll join china eastern when relocating in shanghai...

You can call +1 800 223-5730 via Skype free of charge.

The Y Fare costs 827 EUR on that route.
If you paid around 300 EUR, then you probably had the X Class Fare (154 EUR + 156 EUR in surcharges/taxes):

By the looks of things you've bought 4 W fare flights, 2 N, and 2 X. The miles are then:
4×W: 400 non-qualifying miles.
2×N: 500 qualifying miles.
2×X: 500 qualifying miles.
A total of 4 qualifying flights and 1000 qualifying miles.
Y class (costs about triple of what you payed) would have earned you:
8×Y: 12000 miles.
A total of 8 qualifying flights and 12000 qualifying miles.
Domestic flights are not the best way to earn miles, however after 30 qualifying flights you get Ulisse even though that normally only earns you 7500 miles and Ulisse costs 20000.
As it was your company to book the flights I guess it was their responsibility to check the fare. By buying from the website the correct fare is always shown on the ticket.
About the calling issue, if you want to make a simple complaint you can call 0665640 daily 9.0-22.0. Otherwise if you have a non-italy SIM or phone you can call +39 06 65649 at the normal cost of international calls (may cost you more than €0.30/min, which in itself is slightly lower than average costs for contacting an airline).
In any case for most issues we should hopefully be able to give you an answer here, otherwise try Alitalia's Facebook page (but be nice, otherwise they might not help you). :-)

Facebook is a good deal, I've seen they are pretty smart there. Will try it.
Still undecided which company to fly with to china...Lufthansa or somewhat ST...
Let's see if Alitalia redeemes with next flyes.
Thank you all :)
