Luxury Hotels - Reethi Rah: Your help for villa choice :)
Hi folks !
Booked a trip to Reethi Rah in September. (Jeah, first time to the Maledives :D).
Now I`m trying to secure a perfect located villa (standard King) on the island. Any advises from previous visitors? We don`t really have preferences towards sunset/rise but we do value privacy and quietness (and beach/sun) a lot more :)
Thanks! & Good travelz to all :-:

The island is made up of 12 private beaches, so wherever you are, you have acres of space and privacy. More important would be to check the weather/winds at that time of year as optimum conditions vary from one side of the resort to another depending on time of year. I have never had a problem with this, but hear that some people have, so maybe it' worth checking.

All villas offer privacy. Reethi rah villas are well spaced - but surely you know this to have booked ;-)
Serious sun worshipers should face south to get the rays all day, however, this is the Maldives - it's not possible to stay out in the sun all day - you'll get ill.
I would recommend choosing the side of island which has the calmer water (the west I believe) which include Grand, Palm and Sunset beaches, due to the reef preventing many waves forming. Email them to clarify this and then refer to this map (http://www.signaturetravelnetwork.com/suppliers/signature_hotels/attraction_files/reethirahResort's%20Map_Page_1.jpg)of the resort to pick your ideal villa location!
Generally in the maldives, villa location isn't much of an issue, especially in the premium resorts.
Have a great time

We stayed at Reethi Rah in June 2011. Our Beach Villa was on Reethi Beach as I previously had requested.. It was number 227, the closer to the swimming pool.
We find the little beaches more beautiful than the bigger ones as the water is too far. Reethi Beach was perfect for us.
That time of the year this side of the island was less windy than the other one.
Here you can see pictures of all the beaches of the resort:

Our choise would be again this beach but a villa a bit far away from the pool.
Numbers 229, 230 and 231 would be perfect.

Choose a villa on reethi beach or turtle beach. Avoid the other side at all cost (where Grand beach and other beacjes are) because if weather get severe (and it could easily happen in september) can really harm your holiday beeing on the side facing the moonson.
Note that on turtle beach and reethi beach there is (i think) only ONE beach villa with pool in case you care for it and it is the last one on turtle beach. a very nice one very private.
There are two additional beach villa with pool on the small beach just on the side of turtle beach, they are very nice as well but the beach is awful here.
