We will be arriving on a cruise ship in Montreal around 8 am on a Sunday and our flight is not until 7pm. We would like to be able to spend some time seeing the city. In looking on the web, I found that there is a baggage storage facility at Central Station. However, the via rail website states "Baggage Service offered: Baggage room with baggage checkroom, with restrictions."

Does anyone know what the restrictions are? Any other convenient options?
Thank you

As I recall, the restrictions are that you must be travelling on VIA Rail:

Have you considered renting a car and using it to tour the city and then drop it off at the airport?

Embarrassed to admit that I thought I had "subscribed" in order to see any responses but obviously I failed to.

We plan to buy a day ticket to use the Metro to get around town and then take the 747 bus to the airport. Some of our group will be taking a train to Toronto from Central Station Sunday morning so it seems like a good place to drop our bags.

You could possibly leave your luggage at a hotel that you have status at ?

Otherwise I know there are storage lockers at berri-uqam station. these lockers are really close to where you board the bus to goto the airport too.

How much luggage are you looking to store? I am not sure of the costs.. but you can probably find out by calling the bus terminal there.

btw: berri-uqam is the starting/ending point of the 747 bus to goto the airport.

We will likely have 2 carryon and 2 full size. Great idea about trying to store at a hotel. I am platinum at Marriott so Chateau Champlain might work.

Sometimes what I do ... is tell them I am going to check in to the hotel later. Just so they can't give me an excuse to turn me away ;).
