How rigid are the Germans with enforcing the liquids policy, particularly contact lens solution? I've read that contact lens solution can only be carried if it's in a container less than 100ml. I'm used to TSA's policy of not having restrictions on contact lens solution. So I carry the large-size bottle every time I travel. Should I put it in my check-in bag when I leave MUC?
Also, is placing the 100ml gels/liquids in a 1L plastic bag and having them enter the x-ray machine separately part of the German airport culture? (As in, do people in Germany do this naturally?) Traveling the past few years in the US, I just leave my plastic bag in my carry-on, and let TSA do a secondary if they please.
I also will be traveling with 10-12 sports gels. In the US, I don't put them in the 1L bag. They're in a separate section of my carry-on. Should I cram them in the 1L bag when passing through MUC?
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Just would like to do as the Germans do when I pass through MUC next week (despite the fact I find the whole liquid thing absurd). :)
