Swiss International Airlines - Add checked baggage during stopover?

Good evening,

I have a flight with Swiss from FCO to IAD via ZRH and JFK (JFK-IAD is a UA flight). I have a "stop over" in ZRH (if it matters: I think technically it is not a stop over as it is below 24h (I arrive 4:30PM on a Friday and fly out to JFK at 1PM on Saturday)).

Question (as I'm actually ZRH based):
When I continue my flight on Saturday to IAD via JFK: can I check-in luggage in ZRH (not having had any checked luggage from FCO to ZRH before)?

Thanks,
Tom

Yes. I recommend you only Check-in FCO-ZRH on Friday, then just do a "regular" check-in at ZRH on Saturday and check your bags.

No problem at all as long as all the pieces together are below the limit. You could check some in FCO and some in ZRH.
