Club Carlson - extending gold status

This is probably never going to happen, but I just thought I would ask you regular club carlson hotel goerscfor some advice. After spending most of last year staying in carlson hotels I achieved gold status. Unfortunately I have been unable to use this as I am on maternity leave and hence not travelling much. My card expires in feb, and I will be travelling again from around that time. Is it worth me giving them a call to see if it could be extended as an incentive to use their hotels if possible, or should I just start again from scratch?

If you have a few existing and upcoming reservations, they might extend it.

Either way, it never hurts to ask and you won't know until you call :)

Do you have status in other hotel programs? You might try matching just before your CC status expires.

No status elsewhere unfortunately. We have a policy of staying in the cheapest place possible which meets set standards, which has generally been Park Inn/Plaza. I have sent an email explaining my situation, so will see what they come back with. On the positive side I have just managed to book a 2 4 1 stay in Berlin (radisson blu) for next feb without the children. Using my BA avios it has come to under £200 for the 2 of us in club, so at least I'll have used one of the perks!:p

Good luck to the OP though.Because there is something called CUSTOMER SERVICE and good P R . Besides she just might reach an expectant parent !

I'd be very surprised if Carlson doesn't grant your wish here. They are generally more interested in quality customer service than other large chains and they have always been helpful to me..

Thank you for all your replies. Club Carlson sent me a very lovely reply to my email, and, subject to price, I am likely to be continuing my Club Carlson stays on my return to work. By the way no photos were needed ;)
