Just checked out the list of participating hotels, and I don't think that is the updated version one. I remembered that Novotel Phuket Panwa was no longer part of Accor affiliation anymore since 1 year ago and now the hotel was rebranded as Panwa Beach Resort while their newest Novotel in Phuket (Novotel Phuket Vintage Park) is not on the list. I also noticed that all seasons and Pullman brands in Indonesia are also participating. However, it only list All Seasons Legian Bali and Pullman Bali Legian; while other 3 newly opened All Seasons and two newest Pullman were not included. It seems that Accor forgot to update their list, so no need to worry for everyone who would book their favorite properties (except Sofitel; for sure) since the list were still outdated. :D

Don't worry. It might not be available on this time since the rate would be available when 12 June 2012 as of their T&C.

Up early this morning and bookings made for my trip in mid July for Hong Kong, Bangkok, Samui, KL and Singapore, plus a 3 night stay in Nth Qld at the end of that month. Most hotels gave me 55% as an Advantage Plus Member. Very, very impressed. I love these Accor sales.

no offense. It sound like Australia properties issue rather than Accor sales issues here.

Sofitel Los Angeles, Specific rates are not available for the type of room selected. We can offer you the following rates:

I did see the Sofitel Miami available though for €95. Hmmm.

Their idea of a super sale price at the Sofitel Montreal is €544 for a superior room!

Just for the fun of it, I tried London during the Olympics. You don't even want to know the rates they are asking!

I don't know what the issue was when you tried but I have been able to book the Mercure Potts Point for $75/night and in the process saw The Menzies for $90/night and The Swiss Grand Bondi for $100/night which are pretty good prices for Sydney at the moment

list of participating properties was completely different before sale started.
I had 3 places on the list, then when sale started all three hotels disappeared from list.
Very strange and stupid tactics by Accor Hotels

As far as I know the Sofitel brand is not included in the 50% off promotion. In the promo landing page, the Sofitel brand is clearly missing.

Those prices I quoted above were listed as Super Sale prices. So they absolutely appeared to be participating.

tikadaxx

The sofitel is not participating, just a few exceptions. But if you are booking in Asia, the Pullman brand has very close qualities to it. Unfortunately, the 50% has only 1-2 room remaining for many hotels, which if you have a large group, you can't take advantage of it.

I don't see the advantage.
I usually stay 2 nights/month at the Pullman Khon Kaen usual promotion rate around 5700 THB.
Includes breakfast and 700THB restaurant voucher.
Promotion rate at 50% is 1500THB/night x2 +breakfast = 5.000.
5.700- 700 THB voucher = 5.000
Thus will pass and book normal for this or next week...

Just saw this thread--I realize the sale is over but just wanted to post some amazing prices--I cancelled some IHG Hotels Point Breaks night in favor of:
Ibis Koh Samui US$19/night (5 nights)
Ibis Sathorn Bangkok $19/night (7 nights)
With free internet and coffee/teakettle, that's a pretty great deal!

Need some help on this.

I bought 3 nights (separate nights) of one of the properties in Singapore for a stay in August. I am now unable to make this due to a work-related event happening elsewhere.

Since these rates from the 50% sale are prepaid. Can I 'sell off' these nights to someone else? I will get the hotel to list down their names as guest and they can 'take-over' the room commitments from me?

ak37
Jul 12, 12, 1:07 am
You should e-mail the hotel directly and see if they can help you. I had a similar experience recently with Ibis Styles Southwark in London. The rate was pre-paid and my card was already charged. I e-mailed the hotel and they allow me to change the guest name.

Just got an E Mail, another sale of some sort maybe just for Australia. Up to 40% off.

Clicked on the link and tried to make a booking, but "the requested rate is not available".

After complaining bitterly about non-availability of sale rates earlier in this thread, it turned out they just handn't loaded the inventory. Might give them another day or two this time.

Is this the deal you were talking about/received an E-Mail for?

http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/promotion/specials/winter_australia.shtml

I received an E-Mail about this yesterday as well but went to do a search and it seems very limited on what hotels are either participating/number of rooms available. I was hoping to find a list of areas that are applicable for the deal/what brands are participating but can't seem to find anything (typical Accor marketing?)

I would have thought judging by the picture that the offer would be relatively Worldwide, but it seems some countries are participating and others not...

harryhv
Jul 13, 12, 9:19 pm
Yes that's the one. And of course with Accor there's no clue as to which hotels/countries are supposed to be participating. Still haven't actually found a room at this rate but maybe the web page is still catching up. Things seem to have moved half a step forward:

Searched for Narita and it said the rate was available at the Mercure, but on the next page to select a room...

"Specific rates are not available for the type of room selected. We can offer you the following rates"

and showed just the usual rates

Maybe by tomorrow the actual room rates will also be loaded!

"29 hotels are available on the requested dates for this destination, but do not match your specific rates."

Why bother?

I've really had it with Accor's bait-and-switch advertising in Australia. I responded to the email within 2 hours of receiving it, to find what you've found.

I've told them so directly, and encourage Australians to write to both the Aussie CEO Simon McGrath <simon.mcgrath@accor.com>, and the Accor CEO Denis Hennequin @ <denis.hennequin@accor.com>. While Hennequin never responds to his customers, McGrath is just a rude ********. But they deserve to cop some complaints.

I've also lodged a complaint with the ACCC, but they're generally pretty worthless.

The past few days, have been trying to get some deals with the "40% sale" for Jakarta and Bangkok properties to no avail..is it a scam? SPG and IHG finally got my money.

harryhv
Jul 17, 12, 6:55 am
To be fair, that 50% sale did finally load some rooms in Australia the following day after the sale was advertised, and I actually booked a week in Perth for next week through the sale.

But this new 40% off sale is rubbish, you can click through the web page to the T&Cs

http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/promotion/specials/winter_australia.shtml#conditions-bottom

ultimately a page which says there's no new sale, the 40% off is a mixture of some existing sales for France, Portugal etc with different start and end days. The only sale for Australia is 3-for-2, get 3 nights if you pay the rack rate for 2 nights, somewhat unattractive as the rack rate is about double the normal rate.
Valid for stays 18/7 to 30/9.
