I was looking through the Amex Platinum and I see absolutely none in Asia except Tokyo. Am i looking at a wrong list?

Would love to get some guidance as I'm considering applying for this and the lounge is the main reason (besides bonus miles of course)

Thanks!

There may not be many lounges here that specifically grant access by virtue of having a black/platinum Amex but your Amex Platinum (http://exploreplatinum.americanexpress.com/Benefits/Travel) will come with Priority Pass (http://www.prioritypass.com/) and Priority Pass lounges are abundant (http://www.prioritypass.com/mobile/).

After you receive your Platinum Amex you need to send off the enrollment for Priority Pass. It's not automatic. Can take a week or two until you get your Priority Pass card so bear that in mind when timing things.

There aren't any. And IIRC the one in Tokyo is only for Japanese card members.

Access to lounges using your Plat card is a mainly US thing. Most credit card programs in Asia hand out Priority Passes like candy.

If you are traveling solo, then no issues as Priority Pass will get you into many lounges in Asia no matter what class or airline as long as the club is a member. However, guests will cost extra.

What about in north america (or south america) where Amex Platinum overlaps with Priority pass?
with card i can get me + 2 guests.. priority pass - me only.
in those overlap places i'm assuming i can just not show my priority pass and get me + 2 guests.

THanks!

why not check the priority pass site? - some guests (e.g. spouse and kids) are often free.

There are very few overlaps. Platinum is accepted at AA, DL and US lounges. A few AA lounges accept Priority Pass, no DL lounges accept it, and most US lounges do. Your eligibility and benefits are determined by the card you present. Other cards that you might hold are irrelevant.

If American Express changes from Priority Pass to Lounge Club there will be very few, if any overlaps.

AFAIK - AMEX Platinum benefits are based on the country of issuance.

It does not crossover in theory.

So in the overseas, you will have to rely on PP.

As a U.S. platinum card holder, you can use the AMEX Lounge in the Delhi airport (domestic terminal), and I imagine the same applies to the AMEX lounge in the Mumbai domestic airport. The Delhi lounge is small but great with full meal service and very helpful attendants.

I'm pretty sure the following AMEX-operated lounges are also open to U.S. Platinum cardholders:

Mexico - Mexico City - Centurion Club
Argentina - Buenos Aires - Salón Centurion
Brazil - São Paulo - Centurión Club

There is one in Rio, too. In EZE they wouldn't let me in with a biz card (personal only, she said), but no issues using the one in Rio a couple months ago. No booze and outside security; otherwise nice enough.

Whilst passing through Bangkok airport last week i noted that the Bangkok Airways Business lounge allowed access for Platinum card holders as did the Travellers Lounge in Hong Kong airport.

Could someone please tell me the hours of operation of the Delhi Centurion Club? Can't find it anywhere online. Thanks
