Qatar Airways Privilege Club - Upgrade of Qatar Airways ticket

Hello folks,

I am just hoping against hope that there is an option to do this(I don't believe there is one ) but would definitely like to be proved wrong :D

If I purchase a one-way ticket in economy class on Qatar from IAH-BLR can I upgrade it to business class using united miles.

Probably not that silly... you can upgrade within Star Alliance, but Qatar is a non-alliance partner.

This is not universally true. It really depends on the programs involved. I can use UA points to upgrade on 15+ carriers, with some restrictions, for example. It just happens that QR isn't one of them.
