So I am in a pickle.
In February I booked a flight, roundtrip JFK-VCE, with airberlin through a third party website. Everything went smooth.
A month or so later, I check my reservations again just in case and I see that my return flight magically changed on its own.
Originally I was to depart VCE at 12:55pm and arrive at DUS at 2:55pm connecting to a DUS 5pm flight arriving at JFK 7:25pm all on in one day Sunday.
Air Berlin had changed the time (cancelled flight) and my new flight was at VCE 2:15pm arriving at DUS at 4pm which would be ok and I can still making it on my connecting flight going to JFK.
Another month later they change it again without my knowledge. Now I leave VCE at 3:35pm getting to DUS at 5:10pm, my connecting flight still leaves at 5:00pm from DUS to JFk. That means I will be in air when my connecting flight leaves.
They want me to take a 8:45am flight to DUS and then be able to get to 5pm flight. I would be ok with that as I have to return to NY on Sunday.
The problem now is that there is no way I can make it to airport before 10, so I need the flight to be at 12pm-ish at the earliest. That is why I booked my original time at 12:55pm.
Can anything be done? Can I request for them to put me on a flight VCE-DUS on another airline(their expense of course) so than I can make it to my 5pm flight? Maybe I can request a totally different return ticket from one of their partners/other airlines.
I feel I was dubbed. Is this legal? If I knew this would happen I would not have booked with them.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you for your time,
Stressed out flyer.
Btw all flights will be in mid June
