Hi all, I have the AMEX gold card, but it I get the platinum for the extra benefits, can I cancel my gold, get a refund on my annual fee, but keep the 20,000 bonus points!

I find that (At least in Canada) they don't usually refund the fees (Pro-Rated) in the first year. They will refund them in year 2 or later. If you tell them that you upgraded to Platinum when you call to cancel you have a better chance of getting some of your $$$ back. Or they may let you keep the Gold without fees. Good Luck. I.T. |
