Flying Blue (Air France, KLM, and Other Partners) - [Up again]"Booking engine is down due to maintenance" & updates to engine

Just joined FB so i can see possible award seats for my DL points... but for the last two days have gotten the aforementioned message when I log on. Is this a regular issue? Or does FB know that I am not a real AF flyer?:roll eyes:

It seems to be up again and they have made some modifications.

For example when choosing a flight you can now also see the fuel surcharge per flight (stated under the number of miles needed).

Funny, on the month-overview page it shows for example 25K miles + 350 euro. While if you select that date, it also has 30K miles + 150 euro via another route. Which I consider much more interesting ;)

If they wanna show the best option at the overview table, they should convert the value of miles to euros as well and sort on the total price. Not just show the option with the lowest miles :/

When I log on, it still shows the same message but when I click on the search awards tab, it does let me do that. Guess someone forgot to take down the announcement OR perhaps it has worked all along and I just was too sheepish a fellow to try it when it told me it wasn't working:confused:

Now a different question, can anyone help this neophyte understand why only one IAD-CDG flight would show up on the FB award site while on DL's site, several of them do? Also, the fees, taxes, etc seem higher than I remember them being last time I used an award ticket. Is that the impact of the Carbon tax?

Higher fees are a result of higher fuel surcharges. Whether or not you have to pay these will depend on the program whose miles you're redeeming.

The award booking engine is really bugging. It took me three attempts and a day to book for my family. And then another manip to achieve seatassignment.
