Looking to get from SDU airport to the Sofitel. What would be the fastest way?
Is there a pre-paid taxi service at SDU like the Guaru Coop service at GRU?
Thanks

Just grab a regular yellow taxi outside the terminal. Make sure the meter is on and set correctly for day/night. The hotel is at the far end of Copacabana beach, near the fort. Fare might be around R$25-30.
Fastest? Taxi. There should be the pre-paid, flat-rate taxis at SDU. There are at GIG. If there are, you'll see a kiosk as you exit baggage. You probably already know that a regular, metered taxi will cost less. Advantage of a flat rate taxi is that you know the rate in advance and can pay by credit card. I'd be okay with a metered taxi. Can't recall if the Real bus stops at SDU when going to Copacabana/Ipanema (does on the way back to GIG).

Yes, it does, but do not forget that they are all called Premium now.

I just took a taxi from SDU to Ipanema. My metered cab from the outside queue was R$45. The prepaid taxi would have been R$63. I didn't find it a particularly challenging experience and would just take the metered taxi again in the future.

There are now a handful of Nissan Leaf electric taxis based at SDU. You might try one if you can. They are now rented free to a handful of drivers whose records are pristine.
