I know that expedia has a counterpart one uses while in Asia, but are there others? In essence traveling ow from say LAX-HKG I could look at flights on expedia. From HKG-LAX I looked on elong.net (I think) as it was in the local currency and included the budget airline companies for that region etc...

I have heard that travelocity has counterparts but couldn't locate them. Aside from booking with a travel agent, if you were in other parts of the world and wanted to see what cheap flights existed from that hub you were nearest...where would you go.

I sincerely apologize if I have posted in an incorrect thread/forum.

Go to the bottom of the travelocity.com page and you'll find some cute little flags with the corresponding country names under the heading "International Sites". That should solve your problem.

Thanks, that helps with some countries I fly in and around. Does expedia or anyone else have something similar for Thailand and/or China?

I find that a good way to identify local booking sites is through skyscanner.net. You can choose the desired country and will receive different set of booking sites with lowest prices, based on that.

I got an excellent rate in Vienna using www.ameropa.de . The drawback is that the vouchers were mailed to me, and I don't speak German (thanks Google Translate), but it worked.
