Star Alliance - Getting a few extra Star Alliance miles for a status upgrade

I'm missing about 600 tier miles to get to Gold on Aegean.

Is there any way whatsoever to get those tier miles without actually flying a star alliance flight? (e.g. through some awards program / car rental / etc)

The problem is that I need to get *tier* miles, not merely "air miles" that one gets for casual transactions (car rentals etc). And a reference to some specific card that does that would be very useful.

As far that I'm aware the only way to earn tier points is through flying.
