U.K. and Ireland - New Technology at EDI Passport ControlView Full Version : New Technology at EDI Passport Control ft101 May 22, 12, 9:53 pm Coming in through Immigration at EDI at the weekend I noticed 5 new pieces of equipment off to the right. They looked to have an area to put your passport for scanning and then a short passage to the other side so possibly some kind of automated entry system to be introduced soon. Does the green arrow indicate where you put your passport and the sign just above the reader show a picture of an opened passport indicating how to place it on the glass? I was through quickly on Sunday but any enhancement to the system should be welcomed. At least if they've been installed elsewhere then hopefully any bugs will be ironed out by now.
