DEN-HNL-GUM-MNL-GUM-HNL-SFO-DEN. Begin Sept, 2012. Quick turn. 2 hrs. 10 min. in MNL and back to GUM. $ 978.80 ai. 1K flyers with double UAMP miles will enjoy .0279/cpm; otherwise, .0558/cpm.

Let's see: Chase/UA VISA where 1st $ 5,000 in UA ticket spending is credited toward 1K. That means 95,000 miles left to 1K qualification for 2013. How many of these trips does it take to accumulate 95,000? Straight qualifying miles- 17,526. 95,000/17,526=5.42, say 6 roundtrips. $ 978.80 x 6=$ 5,872.80 + DIA parking + minor incidentals to make 1K in 2013. Not bad if you've got the time to fly. . . .

Except DEN-HNL is not UDU eligible :p

This is still a great route to use a RPU too!

Yup, good RPU route. (I burned my four RPUs on EWR-HNL vv.) Didn't notice his routing. It's allowed to go DEN-SFO-HNL-GUM-MNL vv., so you *can* get CPUs the whole way.

HNL to GUM isn't eligible for RPU or CPU, in my experience. I'm not sure why. Yet, you can get CPU on GUM to MNL.

:o

The island hopper then! Only if you can get it :D I think a Travel Agent should be able to do it..

I guess a simple DEN-HNL-GUM-MNL has now turned into DEN-SFO-HNL-MAJ-KSA-KWA-PNI-TKK-GUM-MNL :D

EWR to MNL also works for $1049ai for sep departures. Pretty good deal if you have the time to do it. Just under 20k eqm depending on routing from ny.

gb, do you have some late, hard evidence on this? I can't get a straight answer from UA.

What could a TA get you actually?

What could a TA get you actually?

They can help price out the exact itinerary you want, particularly on a complicated itinerary that involves the island hopper...

The best routing rule I found for this route:

DEN-CHI-HNL-HA/UA/WP-ITO/JHM/KOA/LIH/LNY/MKK/OGG-HA/UA/WP-HNL-GUM-MNL

So, based on that you can do DEN-ORD-HNL-GUM-MNL with the HNL-GUM sector being on the island hopper. Trying this online sometimes will be near impossible, but a TA can easily manually put in the flights in the system and book it.

Understood, gb. And that island hopper is a domestic 777 requiring GPU for upgrade, indeed?

Nope it is on a Micronesia 737 and you can CPU on those flights... No need for a GPU...

However, if one is going to fly DEN-SFO-HNL-IslandHOpper-GUM-MNL, I would burn an RPU or GPU for that.

Just booked DEN-IAH-NRT-MNL (NRT-MNL NH949) and MNL-GUM-HNL-DEN. 1 day turn $948 and 18,161 in October. Not the best cpm but ...

Booked an ex-ORD traveling companion meeting me in IAH and taking UA200 GUM-HNL-ORD on the return for about $85 more.

I'll post this separately as well but any ideas for 26 hours in Manila?

This deal extends into smaller markets surrounding DEN at same cost. Just booked 2 of these from GJT (Grand Junction). Actually cuts the CPM a bit, but Manila is a destination for me, not just a mileage run, so it is a win win.
