Other Asian, Australian and South Pacific Frequent Flyer Programs - CI and BR Mileage Redemption

I have 12,000 miles with BR that will expire by the end of July and around 4000 miles with CI by the end of June. Is there any easy way to liquidate these mileage? I've relocated to Chicago from the West Coast (a.k.a. the Best Coast :p), so I take CX now to get back to Taiwan. If I transfer BR mileage to a family member, would the expiration dates still be attached or does it reset? I had been hoping that with CI's entry into Skyteam it would be easy to use DFP miles to book on Delta and etc. but it's not that straightforward apparently...

No transfers on just miles.

With BR, transferred miles retain their expiry and cannot be combined with other balances to make up enough miles to get a reward.

If you can find a reason to fly BR again, look out for the miles+cash deals they sometimes have online. A good way of spending a small number of miles.

Is it possible to use them for the online mall? I could just buy something and have it delivered to someone in Taiwan.
