I was booked on KL1886 (NUE-AMS) this afternoon. As I entered the terminal building I noticed a queue of passengers at the AirPart counter, and my first thought was "KLM flight got cancelled", but the departure board showed nothing.
When I got to my gate I saw a Fokker standing at the remote stand. That surprised me as I could see via Flightradar24 that PH-OFN was still en route for AMS-NUE. I then figured out that the plane I saw was PH-KZE, operating KL1884 with a scheduled departure of 10:15. It was just past 13:00 at that point.
I had already been surprised by the equipment change for KL1886 from F70 to F100, but when another passenger got approached by an assistant (the pax had reduced mobility) I figured what had happened.
Apparently PH-KZE got damaged by ground equipment (a baggage car as far as I know) and was grounded until an engineer from AMS was flown in to inspect the damage.
All's well that ends well, the damaged plane departed a whopping 6 hours and 15 minutes late and arrived safely in AMS.
