I am new to Priority club, but through my ownership in Holiday Inn Vacation club (timeshares), I will be joining Priority club at the Gold level. I am already Diamond (Hilton) and platinum (starwood). I do not have any status with Hyatt anymore.

In your opinion, will I find priority club Gold impressive (or useful) when I have access to Hilton and Starwood at the higher level?

Yes... well, maybe useful...
but not likely to be impressive...

Both HH diamond and SPG plat are much, much valuable than PC Gold. PC gold gets you 10% extra points and that's it. PC Gold is really entry level, you can buy it for 50$ at the PC website.

As HHonors Gold is enough to status match your PC membership up to Platinum (at least it was for me), that is what you should do if you are thinking about staying at IHG hotels. You could try sending your details/online account statement to priorityclub@ihg.com or calling them up and requesting a status match.

I'm HH Gold and will be staying in a Holiday Inn soon (Chiang Mai) for 3 nights. Is it worth getting a status match or are the benefits not worth it? How long would it take to be completed.

I stayed there last year as a Platinum member, received an upgrade to a nice susite. If you stay here, you will need transport in to old CM; the property is not close at all. Area around the hotel is mix of industrial and some residential, but nothing to do there (everything you want is in old city center). CM is a WONDERFUL place to visit. Also, consider the Hotel Le Merridian (AACOR Group), VERY nice hotel in the middle of everything.

We've already booked the HI, so you say the Platinum recognition is good? Was everything proactive and were you offered anything else (free wifi, welcome gift/snack)?

So how can I apply for a status match and how long will it take? I assume I don't need a plastic membership card.
Also, the hotel was booked as a package because we have a grand tour of Thailand. Do benefits still apply when you haven't booked the hotel through the hotel site itself? Can I just mail the hotel to add my PC number? [Yes, I'm a PC newbie :) ]

When my first attempt at status matching hadn't gone through in like a week, I called back. For some reason, the first one hadn't been processed, and when I mentioned that I had already sent in my details, the customer service rep waited on the phone while I mailed in my account statement from HHonors again, and I was upgraded immediately.

You don't need the actual card, and yes, Platinum benefits should apply even when staying through other ways than booking at the IHG sites.

I requested a status match a week ago and haven't heard back from priorityclub@ihg.com. How long does it usually take?

Maybe I should just call. What do you need to send in (HHonors Gold)?

I suggest you study the promotion discussion thread that is a sticky at the top of this forum.

It's a 45 page thread. What should I look for?

I didn't hear back from priorityclub@ihg.com so I called and they said to send the status match request to askpclub@ihg.com

Thanks for that address! I also didn't hear from the 'normal' email address but from the one you provided, I just got a reply (within 24 hours). They asked for some more details "for documentation".

I sent in a request to match my HHonors Gold. What should I expect to be matched at? Gold or Plat?

Would Accor Le Club Plat status be matched higher (although I didn't earn that but got it through a promo)?

If you get a Chase Priority Club Visa card, you will earn 80K points and Platinum status for as long as you keep your card!

To the OP: even if they grant you PC Plat, don't expect it to be like HH Diamond or SPG Plat. It's like asking if your new Toyota Prius will be as fun to drive as the Mercedes CLS you already own.

And if you stay with PC Gold... that would be like asking if your new bicycle is as good as the Mercedes... :D

Just looked at my account and it said Platinum!!!
No mail from PC just yet. Hope it will offer some good recognition and benefits. :)

As a platinum with Starwood, for Chiang Mai, go to Le Meridien.Good location, cute lounge and very nice suites...with the smile!

HI is a bad joke. I'm platinum Starwood, former Diamond Hilton...and once I received platinum on Priority Club, I couldn't believe it...it's simply useless. The guys who have designed that program have no idea...Starwood rocks...

I just got SPG Gold matched to PC Platinum, valid through 12/31 this year, must meet standard requirements to retain for next year.

Took just under two weeks to receive the response after emailing PriorityClub@ihg.

How long does the match usually take to reflect in my account? I logged into the PC website a couple hours after getting the email, and it still shows me as a nobody.

It also doesn't charge a foreign transaction fee so if you are abroad frequently, you won't be hit with the charges

I got matched to PriorityClub Platinum from Hilton Gold. It took 3 weeks for the entire process.
