Hello,

I have 15,500 miles which are about to expire very soon (I can get it up to 16-17,000 with surveys).
I cannot seem to find any way to spend it. Not enough for an airline ticket or hotel anywhere near where we could use it.
I tried their shop, but postage and packaging are nearly €20. The products on that website are not worth it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

if you earn miles with the surveys, then they will not expire

We already have loads of threads about how to extend the expiry of Flying Blue miles - we probably don't need another one.

Here's just the latest example. All the information you need is in there:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/flying-blue-air-france-klm-other-partners/1310987-how-can-i-save-my-miles-expiring.html

And let me just point out that the advice of the previous poster is incorrect. Earning just award miles - as you get from filling in surveys - will not extend your miles lifetime - only level miles can extend the lifetime of your award miles.

Filling in surveys is, anyway, unreliable. If they ever actually post, it can take several months.

Not much you can do with 16k. If you don't find anything, donate them.

BTW Where are you based?

Once you've got the 16,000, you could buy yourself up to 20,000 and take an economy ticket in Europe (an interesting combination with open jaws can be worthwhile), plus the ticket is valid for 1 year and dates can be changed against a fee.

Or use them on some Promo award, or combination of one way Promo awards, which can be really good value when booked as a one way for 5,000 miles (I once did AMS-EDI for 5,000 miles, and it would have been worth EUR450 as a bought ticket).

Thanks for all the suggestion. I will check out the other thread, and look into buying miles. I'll probably end up donating it or accepting the postage fees.
