My banker confirmed today there were 70000 point sapphire offers being mailed around. Does anyone want to share the details if they've received one?

I've been sworn to secrecy.:p BigRedBears May 22, 12, 7:08 am Secure message Chase and ask for bump up bonus? alohatofu May 22, 12, 7:16 am Should I wait for this or jump on the ink bold 50k :-) vortix May 22, 12, 7:23 am Should I wait for this or jump on the ink bold 50k :-) There should be no harm in waiting a couple days for more details to emerge. Though understand that the benefits of the sapphire preferred and the ink bold are different. If you plan on keeping the card for the long term, you should choose whichever card benefits will help you the most. TheNoobTraveler May 22, 12, 7:29 am Wow, my heart was racing. Please let us know if the secure message works. TheNoobTraveler May 22, 12, 7:31 am Should I wait for this or jump on the ink bold 50k :-) No harm in waiting to see how this deal develops. FYI- people have been able to bump up the Ink Bold bonus to 60,000. My wife and I were both successful. blackmamba May 22, 12, 8:58 am Until someone gets a flyer, it's best not to jump on this just yet. lwildernorva May 22, 12, 9:35 am It's a targeted offer. Those targeted are in the same demographic that was targeted for this offer: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milesbuzz/1329196-not-confirmed-citibank-thankyou-points-transferable-ba-aa-singapore-air.html. ;) Paulchili May 22, 12, 9:42 am While this is a very nice offer, it's not quite like the 100K last year. I was one of the lucky ones that got "bumped up" 50K over that one free-for-all weekend ^ I love that card! dparkinson May 22, 12, 10:07 am Called CS to match and was told I needed the code. :td: Reindeerflame May 22, 12, 11:21 am My Sapphire card is up for renewal in June. I'm likely going to cancel it, rather than pay the $95 renewal fee. Any thoughts on reapplying 6 months or so down the road? Even if there was no sign-up bonus, it may still be worthwhile to get the card back...perhaps fee-free for yet another year? mrx900 May 22, 12, 11:25 am My Sapphire card is up for renewal in June. I'm likely going to cancel it, rather than pay the $95 renewal fee. I paid $85.00 to renew....i guess the annual fee went up also....sheesh. jjmiller69 May 22, 12, 11:58 am Too late indeed! I was all excited on this one +1 I had my application all ready to send. :( aragno May 22, 12, 6:39 pm My Sapphire card is up for renewal in June. I think Chase has a great memory and won't give you the bonus again on the same card, in this case a Sapphire Preferred card. Citi seems to have a shorter memory, 18-24 months from what I understand. tassojunior May 22, 12, 7:02 pm My Sapphire card is up for renewal in June. Apply for the Sapphire MasterCard Dr Jabadski May 22, 12, 7:33 pm Apply for the Sapphire MasterCard Concur. I was in the same position last month. Sapp Pref Visa x 1 year, annual fee was imminent, planning to cancel. Applied for Sapp Pref MC, no instant approval, pending. Called 2 days later, was told application not even processed, Chase only allows one Sapp account of any kind (Sapp Pref Visa, Sapp Pref MC, Sapp Visa, Sapp MC). Rep offered to close Sapp Pref Visa to open Sapp Pref MC, said it would be a completely new account, not a transfer of the Visa account. I did it. (Yes, UR points balance was zero!) After activating I called to verify terms, was told annual fee will be billed in a year and 40,000 bonus after 3K in 90 days. I was concerned that might have simply “transferred” the Visa account to a MC account, apparently (I hope) the MC is a completely new account. BTW, the Sapphire Preferred Visa card is basically indestructible. I couldn’t cut it with scissors or a razor knife, couldn’t bend it barehanded, couldn’t break it with pliers. Think I’ll keep it as an ice scraper for next winter, I hope it doesn’t get brittle when cold!:) srdshelly May 22, 12, 8:18 pm Concur. I was in the same position last month. It's still pending a couple of weeks later. It will be interesting to see if I'm approved or turned down; if turned down, whether recon will help; and if so, whether I need to give up the Visa to get the MC. I'd certainly do that if i can earn the bonus. financeprof May 22, 12, 8:24 pm Thanks! You know why I am asking for this... ;) philemer May 22, 12, 9:12 pm Since this is currently a rumor I'll close it until we have hard facts. PM me when you get the facts. :) |
