I am looking at a 3 day rental from EWR and the cheapest model coming up is a Prius (even below a compact). I don't necessarily want a Prius, what could I expect reserving this car and upgrades with be a PC member?

I rent from Avis @ EWR almost every week. I typically book a full size car and they give me pretty decent upgrades (as a PC myself). Last week they gave me a G37, the week before that a BMW X5. Once a few weeks ago i asked for a camaro convertible, and they would only give it to me for $22 / day more, which I politely declined. I'm not sure how they will upgrade you if you book a "cool" car (or whatever they consider the prius). It also might depend on the daily rate you are paying for the Prius. Good luck with the upgrade - let me know what they give you. I am probably the opposite of the average Prius driver in lots of ways. The first time I drove one I found the car very weird but it grew on me as an appliance. I am not sure what the rental ones have but I have logged probably 2000 miles in ones with GPS etc and the car grew on me. Is it a car I would have as my only car? def not! but to drive sometimes its quite neat. azengel May 24, 12, 7:50 am If you have never driven a Prius you should try one. I have nothing specifically against the Prius but, this rental is for a 9 hour drive from NJ to OH, and that is an awful long way to "test out" if I like the Prius. ;) Just looking for something a little more roomier this time around. Just think of all the gas you are going to save. P.S. The Prius is surprisingly roomy. jvick125 May 24, 12, 1:57 pm Just think of all the gas you are going to save. P.S. I also fell in love with the 50mpg's, and am now looking to add a Prius to my driveway. EWR treated me like crap recently. The best upgrade I got with a full size booked was a Ford Explorer. One time I had a car from PHL with midsize reservation and it was a Volvo S60, but the car broke down and I stopped by EWR for exchange, they downgraded me there to a VW Passat, WT F?! The manager was an a$$hole too. |
