U.K. and Ireland - Can use use lounge in LHR T3 when flying BA from T5?

I'm flying BA from LHR (T5) next week, cattle class to JFK. I have an Airport Angel pass which should give me access to the No. 1 lounge and/or Servisair lounge in T3 (airside), and/or Servisair in T1 (also airside). I'll be arriving about 5 hours before the flight, so plenty of time to kill; travelling between terminals should not be an issue.

I live in the UK, so will be arriving landside at T5 for bag drop.

The problem is how to get into T3 airside - I believe that BA have a number of flgihts that depart from T3, but I think that I have to check in at T5. Will I be able to travel from T5 (airside) to T3 (airside) with a BA boarding pass? Obviously there will be security at T3, but will I be able to get out of T5 and into T3 with a boarding pass which is presumably valid for T5? Do security or anybody else check the boarding passes in that much detail?

I've rung both Airport Angel and BAA (Heathrow) but neither was able to help. The only lounges in T5 are exclusively for BA 1st/Club/Exec club, which rules me out :(

Thanks for any help - been to LHR lots, but never flown from T5 (yet), and as it's my 'home' airport, never had to transfer between terminals.

Welcome to FT kaegran.

The only way you can access T3 airside is with a boarding pass for a flight that departs from that terminal the same day (otherwise they will simply not let you in). As your flight leaves from T5, this is not going to happen, I am afraid.

OK, many thanks - seems Airport Angel isn't so angelic after all..

If it's any consolation, T5 is the best of the terminals at Heathrow for F&B options. 5hrs is a bit of a drag mind you and if you have a bag to check I believe in Y they won't even let you do this until 3hrs before departure.

Can you revise your schedule at all?
