Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - seat allocation in /J/

Hi,

Made a booking with TK GOT/IST/JNB return. Asked TA for a seat allocation, he came back with cannot until ticketed.

Never had that before, so is it the case of (a) lazy TA doing bare minimum unless not ticketed, or (b) strange TK quirk...

TK seat allocation for longhaul opens 3months out. Cannot remember what it is for shorthaul, maybe 2 or 4 weeks?

Is that the case for all classes of service?

IMHO (a)

Their computer system (Troya, based on BA BABS, but databased in Amadeus) is so outdated, that I do not believe TK can restrict seat map only for PNR's with e-tickets issued...
