Flying Viring Upper Class for first time SFO to Lon. What is best to get miles on: Virgin Atl, Virg Am, USAir? Any great benefit to one over the others?

Are you likely to fly VS again?

Are you already a member of another alliance of FFP?

These things will help, but if the answer to the first question is no, and you're a frequent US flier, then put the miles there for example!

I have the same question. I'll be flying in Upper Class and I currently do not have plans to fly any of the Virgin airlines after. I'm Premier Platinum on United but am ditching them just this once for JFK-LHR due to United's dismal product, schedule, and service.

Any thoughts on where to credit? If credited to VS, am I correct in thinking that I could use the 12,xxx miles to go somewhere one-way on Virgin America?

Hope you have a great flight, try and do the 19/20 rather than the 41/42 to get a 747 (the 41/42 sometimes has an Airbus A343 with the older IFE).

A little dig around here (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/earnmiles/earningcalculator/index.jsp) will show that you get 16,000 FC miles each way, another little dig around here (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/fcpartners/airlines/virginamerica.jsp?bfSubmit1.y=7&bfSubmit1.x=18) will show the VX spending chart. Your return to London in Upper Class will give you a return on VX transcon in economy at least ... if you're in a higher fare class you'll get 21,000 FC miles each way on VS so more possibilities.

Mind you, you could have them posted to a US Dividend Miles account to make them accessible to *A carrier routes.
