Air France Frequence Plus - ORY: Le Patio lounge in Hall 1 closed
I recently inquired with AF Customer Service about the closure of the Patio lounge in Hall 1.
Here is the answer:
Cher Monsieur XXX,
The lounge in Hall 1 has been closed since Apr 1st, 2012. A new patio lounge should be built in Hall 4 but no opening date has been given yet.
It is a shame that regular users of Hall 1 (including myself: ORY-MLH / ORY-BRN / UX flights) do not have any other lounge access.

Personally, I will not miss it. Only used it once and was underwhelmed.

I think I heard somewhere that AF will leave hall 1 (which should be dedicated to IB/Vueling/TP flights), with may be the exception of the downstairs boarding area for regional flights / boarding by bus. But I don't know where they will install a patio lounge in hall 4. It clearly lacks of space there

ADP has publicly stated that, together with Air France, they are considering a possible "junction" building linking the Sud and Ouest terminals, just as they are considering a 2B-2D junction at CDG. But I have no idea about the timeframes involved ...

Given the financial situation of Air France, I'm not sure it will happen before at least 10 years :s

I prefer they invest in other things than (imho worthless) Patio lounges....

Well, if it is financed by ADP ...
It was first quoted in March 2011

and has been discussed this year by the ADP CEO again (but I haven't found where I have seen it quoted ...)

Is the patio lounge in Hall 2 still open?

Is the patio lounge in Hall 2 still open?
I'll check early next week.
Loosely translated:
A new lounge will open in Hall 4 in early 2013.
Passengers who have lounge access and whose flight leaves from Hall 1 can request a voucher from Air France; this voucher enables them to have a free drink + pastry at the bar in Hall 1
Seems to be an acceptable solution.
For breakfast I will then be able to enjoy a croissant instead of the Mere Poulard cookies :D
So, is patio lounge in Hall 2 still open?

Yes nothing changes to Hall 2. Considering what patios are like, it seems to me that Hall 1 is probably getting the better deal!

Short update regarding closure of the Patio lounge in Hall 1:
I travelled ORY-MLH yesterday and boarded in Hall 1.
- The lounge has actually been scrapped down. There are only empty spaces and additional seats instead.
- You can request a voucher from AF check-in staff located prior to security. The voucher entitles to a free drink only (no pastry or viennoiserie :()
- Beware that the AF counter located airside in Hall 1 does not exist any longer.

Are you sure of that?
I flew AF from Hall 1 last week and there were 2 AF ground staff at the counter located after security. They nicely changed my seat after I requested.

Oh, have I overlooked something?
Actually the counter was unmanned and I do not remember any AF signs at the counter.
But not 100% sure - I will double-check next time.

I have flown from hall 1 last saturday and confirm that the AF counter after security still exists.

IIRC, there is indeed no AF sign at this counter.

I am flying today to MAD from ORY Ouest (with Air Europa :().
No papers in the boarding area.
No lounge
But I was told by AF staff that a lounge will open at Hall #4 at the end of the year.
A coupon can be asked to get a coffee at the bar inside the boarding area.
Short update regarding Hall 4:
Flew UX ORY-MAD last Sunday and boarded in Hall 4.
- You can request a voucher from check-in staff in Halls 3C or 4. The voucher entitles to a free drink. Landside the voucher can be used at the "L'Astrolabe" restaurant only.
- Only status pax flying to MAD were entitled to a voucher. The Plat gentleman in front of me was flying to AJA and did not get anything
(This is clearly inconsistent - a month ago I flew domestic to MLH and got a voucher)
- The boarding area is much larger now: in addition to the existing gates 40A-40D it has now been extended to gates 40E-40G (which roughly correspond to the left side of Hall 3).
Update regarding Hall 1:
ORY-BRN a few days ago and boarded in Hall 1.
- The Illy café has been scrapped down. A new café (EXKi shop) has now opened at the former Patio lounge.
- I was denied a drink voucher from AF check-in staff despite being Plat and claiming that I received one on prior occasions. :td: Actually the staff was unaware of any voucher for Elite Plus passengers.
Regarding Hall 1 AF policy seems to become more and more inconsistent.
Most CRJ-operated AF flights depart from Hall 1: won't these passengers have access to any lounge or refreshment vouchers?!
