I've searched around a fair bit for this and I'm struggling to find a definitive answer, although I know it's very unlikely...is a Z class rafe cancellable with any refund?

Thanks ;)

There are at least two ways to check, firstly go through the booking process on the VS web site and then open the link for 'Fare Conditions', secondly there's a useful guide here (http://v-flyer.com/the-toolbox/fare-codes).

Both will tell you no. Generally, booking the cheapest fare classes come with the most restrictions ;).

As jeffers says, check the Fare Conditions by doing a dummy booking.

Some routes do allow refunds in Z class (e.g. HKG-SYD), but most routes tend not to these days.

Can you please be specific and perhaps tell us what route you're on? Most have very strict restrictions. Like the recent low Z class fare North America to London. That's non refundable !

The route is LHR-HKG-SYD. It's a miles+money booking.

I just tried a dummy booking for this route as a miles & money fare, and the resulting Z fare was not refundable.

I must say, as a general rule I would expect a Z fare to be non-refundable -- the lowest fare buckets in any class usually are... but there are exceptions.

Thanks for that, I did think that it would be non-refundable but wasn't 100% sure. When I tried searching to do a dummy booking there was apparently nothing available!

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to go :D
