Hi all,
I'm turning to your collective expertise in search of a few recommendations. It seems I'll be free this weekend and am looking for a relatively close, inexpensive, and warm destination to spend a few days. I'm in the Netherlands and could depart from AMS, BRU, DUS, or EIN on Friday (25th) or Saturday (26th), returning 28th.
Beyond those constraints I'm fairly flexible so was wondering if anyone here has any destination they would strongly recommend that works for a short trip like this and meets the other criteria.
Thanks!

Ah, Whit Monday. Thanks for reminding me. :D
My suggestions would be: Barcelona, Malaga, Istanbul, or Nice.
Since you mentioned DUS, if you are willing to consider Cologne-Bonn then I would highly recommend doing a blind booking (https://www.germanwings.com/skysales/BlindBooking.aspx?culture=en-GB). I did this two years ago and went to Madrid for 40€.

I had forgotten about the holiday as well, hence the last minute travel ideas. :) thanks for the suggestions - I'll check into them as well as the blind booking (wasn't aware there was such a thing).

I like the blind booking because it's an adventure every time. Plus it's a great price for a short-notice trip.

Malaga would be an easy and cheap destination with Transavia (HV).

With today's weather there is almost no need to leave the country
But I suggest you go to Madrid. It has a nice warm climate with regular and cheap flights leaving from all airports in the Netherlands(KLM, Easyjet, Vueling, Transavia.com, Ryanair, Iberia). It's a very cool city to visit with excellent public transportation!

Aye. Madrid is another great choice. I love Madrid.

The weather is great at the moment but I'll still take the excuse for a quick diversion. Thanks all for the suggestions and info - now time to throw a dart and see where it lands. :)

Well, my traveling companion had some schedule difficulties so we're going with a very easy one - train down to Antwerp for the weekend (I lived there at one point and like the city). Thanks again for all the suggestions....they are saved for a future short adventure :)

Lame.
Seriously though, have fun and be sure to try out the blind booking sometime.

Yeah, but better than nothing, especially as a destination to escape Limburg for a bit :)

Have fun in Antwerp, and I can recommend taking a train down to Gent or Bruges if your schedule allows.
