The strangest thing happened today.
I bought 24,000 (20,000 + bonus) miles last week and used my new BA AMEX Premium Plus to pay. Today, I check my statement; AMEX has awarded me 40,000 bonus Avios for the £255 spent on the miles!!
So that's less than £0.004/mile, 64,000 miles, AVIOS sorry, for £255! :cool:
Needless to say I tried to buy even more for my partner but 24,000/year seems to be the limit on the family membership:(

How very odd! Perhaps the system has got confused and thinks you have a normal Plat charge card since there is a 40k signup bonus on this. Did this charge take you over £1k, £1.5k or £3k spend to date?

It took me just below 1.5k; but the bonus shows on the same line as the purchase in the bonus avios column.
Any thoughts?

Is it a new(ish) card?? Were you due a bonus of any sort on it?

The bonus would show here anyway if it was the bonus for getting a new card.
£1500 is the cut off for triggering the 40k bonus on the Plat charge card. It is miscoding somewhere, I guess.

Yes brand new, I was expecting something around the 20,000 mark, 40,000 is nice though. I thought it would show on a separate line as opposed to "Bonus Avios" for a particular spend.

Hate to say it but this was a glitch.. I had the same thing, 40k points appear (not for buying DC miles though) and today it has been adjusted.. was kinda hoping they wouldn't notice!

I note that the plat plus card is now offering 35k bonus sign up miles. Perhaps that's the reason?
