Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Upgrades on A380

planing on flight form JFK to FCO on tues
can fly either via MUC or FRA
Purchasing C class but would like to upgrade to F
as of now, 6 seats to FRA (on A380), 4 on muc flight (a330)
have never upgaded using United SWU out of JFK and never tried on A380--any thoughts/suggestions/advice on success rate of FRA flight vs. MUC flight out of JFK

Which booking class are you in? C proper? And have you done a search? "Upgrade" and "A380" bring up lots of threads, for example this one:
