Hyatt Gold Passport - Qantas & Hyatt Promo availability

Fellow FT'ers,

I've been trying to use this Qantas promo in June at both Hyatt properties in Melbourne, but when I attempt to book online it says offer not available. When I called Australian reservations they are confused and said the system indicate the offer has expired.

Has anyone had any luck with successfully booking this promo? Any tips with working the offer code?

That offer is pretty poorly worded - is the 1,000 bonus points in Gold Passport or Qantas (I'm reading it as Gold Passport points)? Assuming that you book directly through Hyatt, it would be an eligible rate. Just contact customer service (or our Gold Passport Concierge) after the stay and ask that the promo code QF609 be added to the stay, much like missing Diamond welcome amenity or the now defunct Gx bonus.

I actually believe these are an additional 1,000 QF points, to the 1,000 QF points you can earn if you select airline miles (confusing because QF uses points, and GP refer to airline earning as miles) at check in.

I have never registered for this because generally when Hyatt has promotions like this, you forfeit GP bonus points.

Qantas Airlines is considered Qantas points, not miles. So the 1,000 Qantas bonus points, wouldn't be GP points, they would be 1,000 Qantas bonus points into the Qantas account. Hope this helps!

Does that mean you forfeit the GP bonus points or can you take advantage of both?
