Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - Seats lost and reassigned. Now no seatmap.

This might be part of the exit row renumbering. I mainly want to know when the seatmap will be available again.

I booked a flight for family 7/26 DFW-> SEA -> HNL. A week or so ago I found they lost their seat assignments on the SEA -> HNL segment (they had seats in the front and were moved to near the back of the plane) and I couldn't get them moved back up to the front because the seats up there are now reserved for elites or someone else was assigned to them. Oh well, at least the seatmap for that flight is available and I could pick an aisle seat for them. Now it's happened again only worse.

DFW -> SEA AS moved them from 12B, 12C (aisle) to 29A (window), 29B. The seatmap is unavailable. Message says to check back later but it's been unavailable for a day and half already. ExpertFlyer says "There was an error message from the airline when trying to retrieve this seat map: EQUIPMENT CHANGE IN PROGRESS".

Has anyone had this happen to them and know how long the seatmap might be unavailable? Thanks.

yes, very likely it's related to the exit row standardization. Based on the email from AS, you just have to check back constantly. Or why not give their CS a call?

Thanks. I was going to wait until the seat map opened up to see if I could just reassign them myself but now it's been over two days since I noticed it and there is still no seatmap. I'll try calling.

Update: the seatmap has been unavailable for at least three days since I noticed it and I called this morning to see about fixing the moved seats. The agent said the seatmap was unavailable because of an equipment change and that it was unavailable for her too and that I would have to wait until it was available but she couldn't say when that would be.

We've been hit a couple of times with changes from Alaska on this itinerary, including a schedule change that canceled one of their flights so it's been a bit of a burden to keep up with all the changes they put us through and I asked if a supervisor could help. She was able to get a supervisor involved and he was able to contact someone who was able to fix our seat assignments on the flight with the unavailabe seat maps. Now that I check it after he's worked his magic I find that the way he got it fixed was to bring back the seatmap :D Yeah! It's been hit or miss but this time Alaska has come through for us.

Thanks for the help travelsg!
