I took the Train Des Pignes out of Nice to the Medieval town of Entrevaux. It was really a fascinating little town and well worth the trip. I've posted some pictures below. (Please note I was there very early in the morning, so not many people were up and around yet.)

Train Des Pignes runs every 2 hours, and makes 28 stops. The train station is only about 6 to 8 blocks north on the TGV train station in Nice. Any of the little villages along the way are interesting to explore. Although a lot of the people in these villages are bilingual, not many have English as their 2nd language, so it's helpful to know a little French.
