manchester airport runway is my back garden !! and was just in the garden when a loud roar crept up and a qatar aircraft appeared now iv flown qatar many times but this aircraft was not one id flown on wasnt a treble 7 it looked a big heavy stubby thing it flew out at around 12.45pm just now can someone tell me the name of the aircraft it was ?????:confused:

It could possibly have inventory to carry seats, but in general terms its a freighter. It's basically the C-17 Globemaster. Wikipedia has piles of info. :)

you'll find the answer here, wiki will give you an even wider picture about the QEAF. the 747-8I is likely to get the same livery, too.

Possibly an Amiri Flight aircraft, since they are all in Qatar Airways livery.

The Aircraft is Qatari Amiri AirForce Plane, not part of QR. The livery is of QR only.

As I can remember, that is a military freighter based in the US Air Force base in Qatar. The Qatari authority allowed it to be painted the QR livery.

As mentioned earlier, the Amiri aircraft (Royal Flight) are nothing to do with the airforce and are in Qatar Airways livery. It is most likely this aircraft, as has been mentioned above.
Speaking from experience... Can't really comment further.
