Just saw this line added on the KLM website that wasn't there before and also wasn't mentioned here:

If your name or other personal details in your booking have been misspelt, please contact the KLM Service Centre within 24 hours after making your booking, the correction can then be performed free of charge. After 24 hours you will be charged €50 administration fee.

Thought I'd post it so that it would be easier to find if using search.

Hi,

I have just made a flight reservation for my friend with KLM&Czech airline on ebookers.com...However, I have mistakenly drop out one letter on my ticket...I contacted the airline, but they said I would have to contact ebookers...

Any one has any idea what should I do to solve this problem?

You should contact Ebookers. They are the ones who booked your trip, and nobody else will want to make changes to that booking.

Depending on where the letter goes that you omitted and where the trip is going, you may not need to change anything.

If just one initial is wrong or missing, no big deal, and if the missing letter makes no real difference to the pronunciation of the name, I also would not worry too much. Johnsson and Johnston would not be in issue for instance nor would John E. Edward or John F. Edwards.

If you fly to the US you definitely need to make the corrections if the family name is spelled incorrectly, but within Europe it all depends, but Ebookers should be able to tell you how significant the mistake is.
