Any idea if the 10% rebate offered here will be in addition to the 10% I get for having the Visa card?

I was wondering about this too, but I think I will renew with the $150 with 15k points. My travel this year will be limited :( for $50 for 10k points, rather than paying $135 for 10k points later. IF I wont wont have enough.

Been having difficulties trying to renew my ambassador. Entered my credit card details and got an email thanking me for renewing, yet my status is pending. Have been so for more than a week. Redid the procedure and then used a different credit card and got the same email but my status is still the same showing my old expiry date.
Anyone had a similar experience?

I an tell you that after my last trip to Italy and Paris I have informed ICH that I will not renew my membership. I have been PLT for 10 straight years in the US and had looked forward to some pleasant stays at the Grand in Paris and the Linate CP in Italy.
What found was ZIP benefits for me as a PLT and AB. No free internet and when your traveling in Europe thats a real deal breaker, no breakfast, NO NOTHING!
Maybe i am spoiled with some other chains but Marriott and Hyatt give their upper level travelers the same benefits whether their paying or using rewards.
Buyer Beware!

I don't understand why you believe that there is an entitlement for these benefits. There is nothing in either the Priority Club or Ambassador Program T&Cs would lead anyone to believe that IHG offers these benefits to Platinum or Ambassdaor (non-RA) members.
Some properties will offer above and beyond what the T&Cs state.
You didn't heed your own advice of 'Buyer Beware'.

InterContinental Ambassador Benefits: InterContinental Ambassador Benefits. Upgrades to a Superior room will be assigned at check-in. A room one category higher than purchased will be assigned to InterContinental Ambassadors. Late Check-out Courtesy: InterContinental Ambassadors will be entitled to a late check out time of 4:00 pm. Airport Chauffeur Service is available with advance reservations and at published fares. When staying on Reward Nights, all Ambassador and Royal Ambassador privileges apply with the exception of upgrades, free Pay TV film per stay, 24 hour guaranteed room availability, 8:00am early check-in and complimentary mini bar beverages. Ambassadors are charged Single Rate for Double Room Occupancy.
Paris - Le Grand is a $500 a night minimum hotel @ 50,000 points for an award night. 50,000 points is valued at ~$350. Now that is something.

I'm also curious about the 10% discount, my Ambassador expires in August and I also get the option on my renewal page. Does anyone know if the discount applies on existing reservations that were made in the past?

What I am stating and what I found disappointing was the lack of anything using reward nights.
If one stays at a Marriott or Hyatt for example in Paris, we stayed at the PHV, and as a Diamond, on rewards I was given free full American breakfast for both of us, free internet and a small bottle of red wine in our room.
When we checked into the Grand for a reward night we were given a 15 minute free access to internet card, nothing else.
When we checked in the CP in Linate again nothing, not even internet, and that hotel advertises itself as a "airport" hotel yet you could not even print out a boarding pass, thought that was interesting.
So entitlement, not really I hear people feeling that they deserved huge upgraded rooms, that costs the hotel money breakfast or internet hmm

Clearly stated on the web site for the hotels a surcharge applies for Internet access. Royal Ambassador status and certain rates include free Internet, but otherwise a surcharge applies for Internet for paid stays and award stays alike. Ironic, the 2 star hotel does not charge for Internet but the 5 star hotel does charge for Internet; but that is the nature of the 5 star hotel.

Renewed Ambassador in April and chose the 10% back option. Also have the Visa card. Made my first reward stay since renewal at the IC Moscow checking out July 7th.
The Ambassador Rebate posted 2 days ago and the Visa rebate posted today.
Jul 26, 2012 | Other | VISA 10% REBATE-REWARD NIGHT
Jul 24, 2012 | Other | AMB 10% REDEMPTION REBATE
When deciding to renew I had called and confirmed the overall rebate would be 20% and have it in email somewhere. But nice to see it actually work and in my account.
I was 50-50 on choosing the more expensive renewal option, but went for it as I thought I would break-even on the rewards stays rebate for the year with potential upside. Then during this last trip had an emergency come up and had to book an unexpected 7 nights at 2 IHG properties. I think this extra benefit will work out well for me.
Assuming their economics on award stays make sense, I think this is also good for PC. I am looking at a Brazil trip in August where I will use points -- either SPG, Marriott, or IHG -- and knowing the point stays are 20% less makes it much more likely that I will stay at a IHG property.

I am currently in the same situation and did not see an answer to the above. I have reward reservation done already for stays after my renewal date. Maybe somebody knows by now?
