InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - Suggestions for a long weekend in the UK

Due to work commitments, the holiday we were planning has to be cancelled :(

I am thinking of using some of our points to book a few nights away.

Criteria is that it is somewhere nice and comfortable and hopefully somewhere a little unusal. Travel is not an issue, as I am happy to drive to get us there and the starting point in the Midlands. I like Straford on Avon, but we visit there for work quite often, and Heythrope Park is also out (like the property but have had a few issues with the service in the past).

Do you have any suggestions for some of the lesser known or more quirky properties?

What about Indigo Liverpool or the very quirky Crowne Plaza John Lennon airport. ?

I would recommend the crowne plaza Marlowe. Lovely hotel. Good platinum benefits and great location.

Agreed. It is more of a HI than a CP, but the 2-4-1 rates are exceptionally low and Plat benefits very good. It is actually cheaper to stay here as a Plat than stay at home, when it is £40 / night on the 2-4-1 and (as Plat) you get Club access, which at weekends means free breakfast in the main restaurant, plus access to the beer fridge in the lounge and a welcome drink!

Although if you've had issues at Heythrop Park, then you are certain to have issues here as well, because they are dopey as heck!

Why not leave the country, though? Plenty of decent EU properties and plenty of budget flights from your neck of the woods. New Points Break list is also due soon, so why not plan a few days around that?

Thankls for the suggestions :)

I'd love to leave the country atm, OH has a health issue that prevents him from flying for a short time :(

Marlow sounds nice, I don't mind dopey, Heythrope park issues were more than that :(

I had not really thoguht of Liverpool, had been tothe CP at John Lennon, and they were quite good to plats. I have jot been to an indigo yet.

So far list is Indigo in Edinburgh, CP at Marlow (although that may e a pi for rather thana point stay if they have good rates) and also looking at the Eurostar was also considerering Paris Notre Dame, but availabilty there appears to be light.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for somewhere good on the new points break list at well

Isn't there a newish property in Bruges? May be worth a look, doable on Eurostar easily
