Hello
Anyone know if there's a way to find out if there is a hand-slaughtered halaal (dhabee7ah/zabeehah) meal option?
The problem is, many people like myself do not consider the machine slaughtered animals to be halaal.
For example, the meat that is served in fast food restaurants in Saudi Arabia (including Makkah and Madinah) is meat that is imported from Brazil and is slaughtered by non-Muslims, without the recitation of bismillah - usually a recording is played or the blade has "bismillah" written on it in Arabic (which is disrespectful to begin with).
Now, this isn't a problem when you're flying any of the South Asian airlines that serve halaal food - at least when the departure is from those countries - since the animals there are all hand slaughtered. But the problem comes in when you're flying from the Middle East, since most of the Gulf countries import their chicken (and beef I think) from Brazil and thus it isn't halaal.
I'm mostly talking about Saudi Arabian Airlines and possibly Etihaad (I don't eat any food on Etihaad when it is flying to North America because I don't trust them with my food when they're also serving alcohol).
Any help is appreciated.
