Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - Etihad status match?

Anyone know what Etihad's policy is on status matching, and the best way to contact them?

There was a special promo by Etihad back in April however they don't usually status match.

You can seach FT for the promo. It was extensively discussed.

I know friends that applied for the tier match months ago. (end of april i beleive)
So far only thing they received was a confirmation saying that the status of the application will be communicated shortly.
Curious to their defenition of shortly.
