Hi,

I have flights booked on VS07 and returning VS08.

outbound is 747, so I have reserved 14 A and 14 K (12 is already taken).

inbound is 340-600 so I have reserved 8 G and 8 K.

Would anyone kindly confirm these are suitable? do 8 G and 8 K face each other?

thank you

The seats do face each other but aren't really close enough to talk. 8G is a bassinet position so you may be asked to move (I'm not sure about this - someone else can probably confirm).

I prefer to have seats that are one behind the other when travelling with others e.g. 8K/9K.

Yes 8G is the bassinet position and they are across the aisle so you will see each other but they are not conducive to chatting - go to the bar or sit on one anothers ottomans.

On the 747 14A/K are even farther apart in the A zone,

BTW mclachlan4321 you havn't reserved any seats but only requested them.

Seat maps are available on the VS website.

Row 12, which on the 747 is one of the best seats for couples, normally isn't available to select pre-check-in (sometimes it's not even available on online check-in). Do ask at the check-in desk, because sometimes you can get lucky.

remember though that row 12 dosen't have any over head lockers so please don't try and pull the cabin roof down trying to open them. However it will entertain the crew (who will be also be happy to store anything in the wardrobe )

Thank you.

Can you sit on the Ottoman? As a couple eating together, for example?

In TG F this is OK.

yes no problem at all.

Let the cabin crew member serving your area know beforehand so they can adjust the service accordingly.

How are the D/G seats on the 747 (the two in the center) for a couple? Everything in the nose (and upstairs) on my flight is full so can do either the D/G center seats or aisles behind each other on the window? Thanks!

My preference would Ds or Gs one in front of the other. There was a time when those seat pairs could have the centre divider removed, making them great for couples, but no more. So even though you have the suite wall between you when one in front of the other, you can talk over it, and it's lower than the wall between D and a G. Also, the D and G aisles are different so if you did want to eat, or spend time together, you'd be walking around the cabin.

And a tip, take the best you see, then keep checking, seats do appear, often closer to the flight.
