I am currently holding award tix issued by AA, flying on AA metal into Madrid on Oct. 23, and out of Lisbon on IB to MAD then on AA metal to DFW on Nov. 11. I have business and first seats on the flights over, but only one business seat on the flights home due to lack of availability on AA planes. One of us is in coach unless AA opens up another J seat.
Should two J seats on the IB flights MAD-ORD open up, would I be wise to switch from AA to IB flights? Is it likely the economy in Spain could effect Iberia staying in business? Do you think the IB flight will still be there in November? This will be at the end of our vacation and it would be important to get home on time to go back to work. We couldn't afford to be delayed a day in Europe.
