bmi diamond club - Have a flight on ET in a few days - worth trying to retain gold

Apologies if some variant of this question has already been asked: I couldn't find anything relevant with the search.

I'm flying on ET in a few days and this flight will bring me close to Gold re-qualification on diamond club. But now that BA has matched my gold status and given me status until June 2013, is there any point in trying to keep Diamond Club gold? Or should I just put the miles into another *A account and start working towards gold there from scratch?

Can't see any point if you have already done the status match. Is there any difference in the dest miles or Avios for the trip?

If it was a miles rich trip you might want them if you were thinking of a 1:1 import in July. If you are already *G then you might be trying to status match with another *A carrier, and that flight might go towards meeting any challenge they set you though?

Difficult times with complicated decision trains for us all!!
