Cruises - NCL Jade - Best value upgrade?

Hi All,

I am excited to go on the Jade from Venice in Sept - great run involving lots of awesome ports.

I am currently in an Oceanview that I plan to pay to upgrade, I am just wondering how many steps up I should go to get a great experience - is there a scale of diminishing returns etc?

Will be 2 of us, previously we have taken a Mini Suite on the Gem and a Rear facing Balcony on the Epic.

I am considering going higher in Cat- to suite perks level, just wondering if people have done this and what level I should be looking at?

We've sailed the Jade each of the past two years and have had great times in the Med and Canary Islands. On each, we've had a family suite SC which worked best for our number of people, 5.

If at all possible, try to get yourself up to the suite level perks. The breakfast and lunch at Cagneys are a great way to relax and get away from the larger dining venues. The concierge, isn't much help, but the butler will keep your room stocked with fruits, or cookies or whatever you want.

Priority boarding and tenders where applicable is also nice.

Thanks very much - I was getting to the point where I am deciding between Penthouse and Haven - do Penthouse Guests get Courtyard access? If they do I don't see a lot of value in the Haven.

It isn't listed under the description but I have seen a thread on Cruisecritic from 2009 saying they 'let the riff-raff' in... not sure if it was just a trial period (and for some reason I cannot post on Cruisecritic as my account is set up strangely...)
