My semi-informed, always-snarky, unconventional take on the South American Airlines Alliances Mess, at my FuzzyWanderer.com blog.

A Game of Thrones: South American Airline Alliances Edition (http://fuzzywanderer.com/2012/05/13/a-game-of-thrones-south-american-airline-alliances-edition/)

In which I predict, I believe for good reason, that LATAM is going to end up abandoning oneworld entirely, and joining Star Alliance. But wait, they can't join *A because AviancaTaca group is joining. Oh really?

Short version: AviancaTaca joins SkyTeam, something nobody has been talking about. Except me.

Yes I know A-T was supposed to be in *A now, in fact a while ago. Anybody seen that "A Star Alliance Member" branding on their website or airplanes yet? LAN free to join TAM in *A after all that money TAM just spent to join *A less than 2 years ago. United probably doesn't want A-T in *A anyway because of Continental's historic deep ties to Copa, a direct competitor, so encourages AviancaTaca to change their mind. *A offers a lot more global connections into South America than ow does, LAN does the smart thing.

And everybody hates Aerolíneas Argentina.
