American Express Membership Rewards - Platinum Supplementary benefits (UK)

Hi,

Does anyone know if the supplementary cardholder on a platinum account is eligible for all the benefits of the main card holder, i.e. HHonors gold, marco polo gold etc ?

The amex website says the first supp card holder has the benefits that you [the main card holder] enjoy, but elsewhere it seems a bit ambiguous.

I will leave this open in hopes that someone will provide a succinct statement of what is known and what remains ambiguous in view of the card refresh.

I was going to start a thread to ask the same question but did a search first and this thread came up.

My supplementary cardholder flies Cathay Pacific but not often enough to reach Marco Polo Gold status, so it would benefit her more than me.

Another question I wonder is whether the Gold status will be maintained even though she doesn't fly with them that often in order to maintain it, as I just said. The answer in the thread mentioned does seem ambigious and after reading through the relevant posts it appears there is confusion as to whether the Gold status could just remain for one year unless you meet the relevant flying criteria, or you have one year to apply for this offer.

In my experience, the supplementary Platinum cardholder receives all the main cardholder benefits, with the exception of CX Gold (which Amex has stated is available for one year only, and then renewable at CX's discretion whatever that means). I don't know if the Hilton Gold is available to the supplementary cardholder.

SPG gold yes. Hilton gold no.
