SEA today becomes the second airport to allow active military members with military ID to use the Precheck lane without being invited by their airline. They can get in the lane with a scan of their military ID.

Seems like it would be pretty simple to do the same for Global Entry
Upgraded!

Hopefully that's next; it'll be a welcome change, particularly if it makes things less "random" and opens up PreCheck to those on int'l flights.

I believe that's the plan.

All the technology is already in place to make Global Entry work 100% of the time (i.e. Secure Flight). I think it's all in the name of "randomness" that TSA is unwilling to allow it.
Completely unrelated, any thoughts why SEA was chosen as the second airport to offer this? DCA makes perfect sense, it's very close to the Pentagon and in the middle of a city full of active duty and reserve military, but why SEA? I can think of a 1/2 dozen other airports were I see more military flyers than SEA.

So there is most definitely a steady stream of military going through there. They had to start the testing somewhere and SEA just joined PreCheck a short time ago.
