Special news for JohnnyColombia. :)
According to Flightglobal LAN is looking into developing Bogota as a long haul hub. They have requested and obtained traffic rights to Madrid and Barcelona, and are now studying when to start operations. Keep fingers crossed for those nice 767s across the Atlantic.

I love special news thanks BlackBerryAddict ^
I imagined that it would be the plan, I think it has been discussed on forums.
I won't keep my fingers crossed for the 767 though, given that LAN is pulling the 767 service off the BOG MIA route, I am expecting BOG MAD to be an A320 single class with no AVOD, Juan Valdez nuts, a glass of water and refuelling stops in Caracas and Dakar

Unless you're the only passenger on that A320, I think you'd be chancing it from CCS to DKR, and you might have to swim the last bit.
On the bright side, LAN reconfirmed they're getting 9 767-300s in 2012 (although returning 2 leased ones) and 2 787s. Maybe a couple of those might be allocated to LAN Colombia? Allowing you to enjoy the further hospitality of LAN.
Your routing made me think of those dark days when traveling between London and Lima could involve stops in FRA, CCS and BOG before even getting to Lima. Or subjecting yourself to the unpredictable routes and stops of Viasa and its DC10s.

Maybe LAN is considering a BOG MAD "Clipper" service with one of their Canadair Dash things Bogotá, Havana, Miami, Bermuda, Azores, Lisbon, Madrid

LAN Colombia was not awarded frequencies to operate between BOG and BCN, only 7 weekly frequencies between BOG and MAD. Remember, Colombia does not have Open Skies with the EU like most other South American countries. LAN Colombia will indeed receive new B-767-316ERs this year and possibly launch BOG-JFK and BOG-LAX. Also, the first two B-787-8s will operate the SCL-MAD-FRA route, and it's quite possible that LAN may transfer two A-343s over to LAN Peru for long-haul flights to Europe.
